Songwriting Trouble. Please Help!?

So I love music. And I've tried writing my own songs, but I never finish them. I get distracted and I get other peoples songs in my head, and it makes me want to use them because they're really good, but personally I can't stand using other peoples lyrics in my songs. Though I am only 13, but I still would really love some help and advice on this. I'm not sure how good I am at poetry, I think I would be pretty bad if I tried. So please, if you have any advice or tips, will you share them with me? Like how to keep focused and clear my mind. Also I have trouble with finding ideas and inspiration for my songs. My listening style is pretty mixed, like I LOVE Green Day, The Blackout, Muse and You Me At Six, but I also love Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Selena Gomez (and The Scene :P), Justin Bieber and Michael Jackson. Please help me :)

Don't try to be inspired , just let it come to you naturally . You're so young it's unlikely you've really got anything to wright about .



Less is more , three or four really good lines can be the building blocks of a song .



Make sure the rhyming pattern works .



Think about the structure and arrangement , they are the most important thing , the real art is in the arrangement . listen to other peoples songs to see how it's been done in the past . Verse , bridge ,chorus , middle eight is a good foundation to experiment with .



Learn an instrument , guitar or piano are the best bets , until you understand how music works you will never be able to truly write a song .
