I'm 18--6"0 (roughly) and I weigh 230 pounds (roughly). For the last 4 days I have given up soda and been drinking Water and Unsweetened tea Which I plan to keep drinking. I have also been running/walking a quarter mile 2 times a day along with some in house exercise such as Crunches, sit-ups, push-ups, jumping jacks, e.t.c. for about 15-30 minutes average per day sometimes more. I have also cut down on what I eat and when. I have been eating cucumbers and uncooked Carrots mostly for snacks and I usually eat one major meal a day (dinner) Other than that it's snacking and drinking water mostly Unless I get to the point of starvation in which case I have a bowl of cereal or some leftovers. That's basically what I have been doing for the last 4 days. My goal is to lose around 30 pounds before 2011 so roughly 3 months. I was wondering if my workout and diet are right. I have been overweight most of my life and don't know much about exercise so I need some advise. Any changes or additions that you think I should make to my workout/diet would be much appreciated and helpful. Also if you could...Tell me how much weight I should expect to lose at first and throughout my workout process.

You are on the right track and your diet and exercise strategies should achieve your objectives. You will probably lose 30 lbs in 3 months.
