I believe singers are. on famecount.com the most popular actor (ashton kutcher) is behind 37 singers in popularity and says that lady gaga and justin bieber are the most popular celebs right now with the most facebook and twitter fans. besides 4 singers have reached 1 billion views on youtube and no actor has ever reached even 50 million views on youtube.

besides look when michael jackson died the ongoing reports about his death and the ongoing tributes to his life lasted for months. when elizabeth taylor died no one really cared, her death was only reported once or twice and then no one really cares anymore
